One of the cool things though is that my grandmother LOVES flowers, so every month on the 25th, I had flowers sent.
I love that. I'm going to start doing that for my mother. What a good idea. I have three great uncles (all brothers) on my mother's side who are in their 90s. They argue over who will make it to 100. I am hoping my mother takes after them.
My studio was claustrophobic. Exactly. Full of interesting stuff but too much all around. I love it now. Next spring we plan to do that same thing to the rest of the house. Paint it all warm white and open it up more. I'll probably go back to wet materials eventually but it will be in a very different way. The paintings you have are among the last of that series and style though. It is unlikely there will ever be more like those. I try to completely change what I am doing every few years to keep it fresh and to insure the integrity and

I definitely think we younger people should celebrate the lives of our elders who live into their nineties and hundreds. Their world was so different from ours, and when I talk to my grandmother, I can tell she feels a bit out of place in this one. Cell phones confuse her, and recently when they had to take her toaster oven from her (cause she was forgetting about it and leaving things to burn), she was less than thrilled with the idea of using a microwave oven. Strange, huh?
As for your studio, I think the white is one of the biggest improvements. That and the ceiling. I love the exposed beams. That just looks like such a great place to work. My studio is a yellow ochre. It's a lovely shade but not me. Yours makes me wonder how a warm white would look in there. Hrmm...
