Whew!! What a wild ride, as of late!
Life has been really, really good, but it's been hella pedal to the metal! I feel like I only have a hot sec to catch my breath these days, but I am certainly not complaining. No siree!
My grandmother turned 100 last week, so I went to Orlando for the Big To Do. I thought a $100 bouquet was appropriate for a 100 birthday. Well, it was the Bouquet That Ate My Grandmother. Talk about huge! Your money goes a long way, folks.
Her brother was able to make it to the party which I think was really sweet. It was really funny to have the two hard-of-hearing siblings there (one being 100, and the other at 97, I think). Can you imagine living that long? It's really had me thinking lately. (It also doesn't hurt that I currently work for a health-based organization.)
In the media, the big C (and preventing it) seems to be on everyone's minds lately. Some interesting studies have been released over the past several days. And a lot of the findings correlate with the food/lifestyle changes some folks I know who have cancer have made. (Despite having cancer, my friend Ruth says she feels better than she ever has. Amazing, huh?)
Well, the last two months of 2007 are going to zip past. My Paris/London holiday with my sister will eat a huge chunk of this month. Then there are all the requisite holiday shindigs, etc., and my new rship. I've also been a real slob with all the eating out and less than norm exercising, so I think it's time to whip my habits back into shape before it really gets out of hand. Even my mom gave me grief last week for my lack of cooking (although I also suspect that's her "underhanded" way of promoting the new rship. Lol.)
So yeah, time to get back into cooking healthy stuffs, drinking less coffee and alcohol again, and walking Ms J like we used to do before it got too hot for the sweet pup.
What things do you do to promote a healthier, longer life?
