Travis and I feel very strongly about not having any bad blood between WJ and Wootton's theater programs. The reality is that most people at WJ DO NOT feel the same way about Wootton's show as a few (louder) people have expressed. Quite frankly, that's not fair to the rest of us. The open comments made by a few people will be interpreted as being the overall consensus of STAGEies. Not true.
The reality is that we all know how difficult this show is and we should be commending them for their great effort. And what's the deal with attacking individuals? It's high school. They pick the best people they have just like we do. It's not any school's fault if all their performers aren't supurb. Hell, ours aren't. Criticizing indivisuals is a blatent cheap shot.
We better be ready for a smack-in-the-face of our own because we're certainly going to get one at this rate. By no means is our show even close to being perfect, which eliminates any right for us to put them down.
This whole thing has left a bad taste in my mouth.
Mike's post didn't do shit in regard to helping us not look so mean as he still felt the need to critique the performance and individuals. I really hope it is not shown to Wootton's cast like he requested.
Personally, I'm scared of what audience members from Wootton will do at our show. Hopefully they won't be as small-minded as we have proved ourselves to be.
