(Nam)
Seriously.
My dad gave my sister a saber for Christmas.
This is the sister I sleep in the same room with. The one I have slept in the same room with for the past freaking forever and quite honestly about as far back as I can remember. The sister I have plotted to overthrow the world with. The sister I have sat through several concerts with because she needed someone to gush over her very successful college-student musican boyfriend to--my ears still haven't recovered. The sister I trust with my life.
So why the hell am I completely terrified of the frigging sword?
Which she named Gertrude by the way.

Anyway, my Christmas was awesome. :D I hope everyone else's was awesome too.
There was incredibly bad singing of Christmas songs (I cannot sing for the life of me).
Cookie-burning (we make cookie baskets every year, and as always mine came out slightly tanned at the edges. By slightly tanned I mean, the edges were pitch black and the centers were only slightly lighter in color than said edges).
Shooing the fat housecat out from under the Christmas Tree (He loves lying under there. He knows we won't reach for him for fear of our hair getting caught in the tree).*
And a huge and delicious breakfast of French toast and sausage and biscuits and all sorts of breakfast-y delights (and at the table there was even more hellish caroling, mostly on my part).
And then there were PRESENTS.
And they were FOR ME. :D
....and my four sisters. And mother and father.
BUT FOR ME. :D
I got brand new pink pajamas, which are lovely-comfy-goodnes, we got new movies, I got art books, and a novel I have been DYING to read. No pun intended.
What's this about a pun you ask?
Well...
Well, the novel I got, which technically makes me think that it really qualifies as a graphic novel but still, is Xombie: Dead on Arrival, the written form and semi-variation of the online series bit that I was all gaga over and still am. I want the comics next. :D Daddie sez mebbe for mah birfday. And this book is awesome. It is MADE of awesome. The pictures are semi-stylized but it actually is a very interesting and engaging style, in a sharp cartoony way. It has description, character development, sheer wicked cool, and I happen to be not only very, very, VERY picky about what I read and really like, I have always had this thing about movie to book and vice versa (which is probably why I RAGED for a good half hour after seeing The Golden Compass, despite that Iorek kicked literal a-s-s). But this book manages to pull it off by messing with the story to tell it fit better, rather than to extend or reduce the time it takes to tell it, like so many other works do, or at least feel like they're doing.
Xombie: Dead on Arrival varies for the animated bits sharply and despite not quite managing a hundred and fifty pages, made me wriggle in sheer glee in my seat. I honestly took all day to read this book, just to enjoy it and relish to delight of Dirge and his heartbreaking and yet hilarious cynicism, Zoe and her sheer sweetness, and the beautifully detailed yet simplistic story-telling.
James Farr. I love you.
=D
When I take over the world, I am going to add you to my harem.
I suggest you pick out something skimpy.
So in closing, in case you couldn't follow my crazy ranting.
1. Scary Sword Sister Deal? D:
2. Christmas! Presents! Santa! I burnt the cookies! :D
3. Xombie: Dead on Arrival. Buy it. Now. :D
The chicken approves.**
HAPPY HOLIDAYS.
X3
* This fear stems from an incident which took place while buying a tree, in which Nam hugged the tree (Dad totally told me to) in order to determine how big around it was. The tree caught hold of three or four hairs, and you know how it really stings when that happens. So Nam thrashed and ended up with all her hair caught and had to sit there and have Dad pick it out. Suck much.
** I...um...got my sister a little rubber chicken for Christmas, which you squeeze and a bubble meant to represent an egg pops out of its butt. She went about the entire day squeezing it at people and going 'The chicken approves!' or 'The chicken does not approve.' It was funny at first...what am I saying? It was hilarious the whole time. XD
