I've been quiet on LJ recently mainly because I've been lacking something interesting I feel motivated to write about (apart from the sad loss of the ever sexy Freddie). The controversial comedian Bernard Manning has died aged 76, his Embassy Club has announced.

I'm wondering if a mother-in-law somewhere had anything to do with it?  Surely the police would let her off if she did slip some poison into his food or something? *giggles*

Crazy plans that the local post office is to close and move into the local WHSmith. That's the last local post office I'm aware of and it is crazily busy in there all year round but especially at Christmas. Can you imagine what it will be like with all the WHSmith customers as well? There's something about big brands and corporates - you either love or hate 'em. So what happens when a brand (or company) that starts as ethical and all lovely suddenly jumps into bed with the baddies? Some people argue that happened recently with Green & Blacks becoming part of Cadbury, Body Shop jumped into bed with L'Oreal...

.. reading in yesterdays Guardian in an article entitled "Gay couples given keys to the Magic Kingdon as Disney relents" that Disney has bowed to pressure to allow same sex couples to use it's fairy tale wedding packages under the headline.  Te he.  I hope it made George Bush choke on his bagel.
