Are you open to cross-gender votes? yes, I think that if someone’s personality fits more to a character that happens to be of an opposite gender, then it shouldn’t matter.

Would you be open to being voted as characters who are not in your age range? Would you prefer to be voted as a character who is within your age range? Again, I would wish to be voted based on personality.

1. What are your three defining positive traits? Explain how you exhibit each trait in everyday life.
I’m a very helpful and giving person. I’m an officer of the community service club at my school and a Big Sister (Big Brothers/Big Sisters of America). I want to enter a career to help either people, or animals. I like to live by Horace Mann’s quote “Be ashamed to die until you have won some victory for humanity.”
I’m also a leader in some ways. Although I’m not loud or bossy, I can inspire others. I am captain of my field hockey team and am a leader to them.
Lastly, I would say I’m open. I’m open to learning anything and everything. I’m also open to all different types of people and I try my best not to judge anyone because I think we should all, as human beings, try to get along.

2. What are your three defining negative traits? Explain how you exhibit each trait in everyday life.
I’m a daydreamer. Although fun for me, it’s not always a good thing in calc class. :-)
I’m also very emotional. I believe in horoscopes, and as a Cancer, I’m very moody and can go from being happy to sad in a moment.
Sometimes I can get jealous, which may also stem from being overemotional. I mostly try to keep such feelings inside as to not cause controversy, however.

3. If you were studying in Spence, which would be your favorite place? (By the lake, garden, church, caves, etc.) Why?
I think my favorite place would be by the lake. It seems so peaceful and a place where you can go and sit in nature and share your deepest feelings in private with someone.

4. Would you have stolen the wine from the church in order to be in Felicity's group? Why or why not? If you weren't part of their crowd, what kind of clique would you be in, if any? Why?
I don’t think I would have stolen the wine. However I would have still tried to be friends, or at least friendly with Felicity and her group. I would try not to be in any particular clique, but to be friends with everyone.

5. If the Door of Light were to appear in front of you and you were to go into the realms, what would you choose to do in them? What would they be like for you? I would want to explore and go on adventures. I would want to make the realms like a place in my fantasies where I could see new and exciting things and talk to different creatures and travel to exotic places.

6. Do you think the power of the realms should be shared by the members of the Order? Why or why not? I think there should be a certain extent to which the power is shared. It should be bound in such a way so that the members of the Order do possess a little power but so no one has enough to cause harm.

7. If you were a woman living in the Victorian Era, what do you think your life would have been like based on how it is now, your ambitions, and place in society?
I would like to say that I would be rebellious against a “women’s place” in that time, but if I was raised to be a good Victorian housewife then I suppose that’s what I would know how to be.

8. If you were granted power by the realms and could use it inside and outside of the realms, what would you choose to do with it? I would want to fly and go all over the world to see different places and help people in need.

9. What is your favorite scene (A Great and Terrible Beauty and Rebel Angels combined)? Why? My favorite scene is when the girls try Absinthe because of their reactions to the drug. It was amusing to read about how it affected their minds, especially Gemma’s.

10. What is your favorite quote from the books? Why? “Because you don’t notice the light without a bit of shadow. Everything has both dark and light.” It’s very true in a figurative and literal way.

11. Pick one character among Gemma, Felicity, Ann, and Pippa. Tell us what she (the character you chose) could have done differently. (We are sure you did not agree with their every action.) I think that Ann especially should not have given in to pressure and gotten Ms. Moore kicked out of Spence.

12. Which A Great and Terrible Beauty/Rebel Angels older character would you consider as a good role model? Why? Mademoiselle LeFarge because she is a good teacher but cares about the students. She’s a mix between hard-working and having fun.

13. Sort these words in order of appeal to you: beauty - glory - security - power - wealth - self-fulfillment - freedom. Explain your answer. Freedom (because without it you have nothing), Glory, Beauty, Self-fulfillment, security, wealth

14. If possible, please post one or more pictures of yourself here. This is not mandatory, but if you do have pictures, you're encouraged to post them.
