Are you open to cross-gender votes? Yes.
Would you be open to being voted as characters who are not in your age range? Would you prefer to be voted as a character who is within your age range? I have no preference.
1. What are your three defining positive traits? Explain how you exhibit each trait in everyday life. 1. intellect/wit/intelligence- Since I spend most of my time in class, this is basically shown all of the time. I catch on to things pretty quickly. And, whether for good or ill, this is first trait people think of when thinking of me.
2. Humor- I am, apparently, very funny. I can make people smile or laugh when they are having a bad day, and that makes me quite happy.
3. Open-minded- There’s not much that I won’t consider, aside from drugs, really. I’m open to all religions/races/sexualities, etc. Pretty much anything goes.
2. What are your three defining negative traits? Explain how you exhibit each trait in everyday life.
1. Cruelty- Oh man. I’m a bitch. When I’m angry at someone, I can keep my head to a certain extent, and so I try to say something I know will hurt the other person. A lot. If I’m not sure what that is, I just attack everything about them indiscriminately.
2. Egocentricity- I’m totally focused on myself, and if I want something badly enough, I brush past my friends to get it. I’m horrible at thinking of other people and their feelings; it’s a mix between not caring enough and not really remembering.
3. Low self-Esteem/Shyness- Despite the above, I have a horrible view of myself, and that drives me to a shyness that is actually harmful to me. I can’t talk to anyone outside my small group without affecting a haughty attitude or studying my shoes intently.
3. If you were studying in Spence, which would be your favorite place? (By the lake, garden, church, caves, etc.) Why? By the lake, or in the church. I love water and being near it, and lakes are especially tranquil and good for relaxing. Plus, sleeping on the grass in the sun BY THE LAKE would be awesome. (I have a tendency to sleep curled up in the sun after exams. Life a cat. Mreowr.)
On the other hand, I love churches, even though I am a godless heathen. (XD) They’re beautiful. I would live in Notre Dame de Paris if I could. Really. Or Saint-Chapelle. It really depends on the stained glass within the church. I can’t remember if this one has any, and I really don’t feel like looking through all eighty million books in my room to find out.
4. Would you have stolen the wine from the church in order to be in Felicity's group? Why or why not? If you weren't part of their crowd, what kind of clique would you be in, if any? Why? I might have. I’m really a pansy, so I’d probably have died of fright when they locked me in. I do like to belong, so I’d certainly have tried, but I might have failed. If I failed, I’d probably be a loner who just wanders around and writes bad poetry.
5. If the Door of Light were to appear in front of you and you were to go into the realms, what would you choose to do in them? What would they be like for you? I’d really be able to do anything I want. Have a grand adventure. I’ve always wanted to have an adventure, but not a happy one. One of those adventures that make you cry when you read them, and nothing works perfectly, and everyone gets hurt. You know?
They’d be pretty realms though. :D When I’m not adventuring they’d be very lucid-dream-y and sort of acid trippy, maybe. Lots of hazy blues and purples.
6. Do you think the power of the realms should be shared by the members of the Order? Why or why not? Nah. I don’t really think anyone should have total control over the realms. I mean, monkey around with it a little, maybe, but nothing more than that.
7. If you were a woman living in the Victorian Era, what do you think your life would have been like based on how it is now, your ambitions, and place in society? I would probably be a governess or teacher. I love knowledge, books, and being around such things, and I’m actually the daughter and granddaughter of academics, so I guess I’d follow in their footsteps. I’d have money, but not enough to qualify as upper class, and I would want to do something to support myself.
8. If you were granted power by the realms and could use it inside and outside of the realms, what would you choose to do with it? I’d use it for, well, for whatever I felt like, really. If I was thinking clearly, I would only use it in dire circumstances, but more likely than not I would go trigger-happy. Maybe I’d change the way I look or the way I talk or maybe I’d do horrible things to people I didn’t like. >D
9. What is your favorite scene (A Great and Terrible Beauty and Rebel Angels combined)? Why? Definitely when Gemma realized that Hester was Circe. I don’t like Gemma much, so my train of thought was, ‘HA. YOU’RE DUMB.’ She always leapt to conclusions and insisted that Hester was good and amazing and all that jazz. Sheesh.
10. What is your favorite quote from the books? Why? ‘Dans chaque fin, il y a un debut.” Because it is such a wonderful sentiment, and in French. FRENCH FTW
11. Pick one character among Gemma, Felicity, Ann, and Pippa. Tell us what she (the character you chose) could have done differently. (We are sure you did not agree with their every action.) Gemma, and not judging Ms. McCleethy so quickly. It got her in a lot of trouble later.
12. Which A Great and Terrible Beauty/Rebel Angels older character would you consider as a good role model? Why? Mlle. LeFarge, because she’s devoted, kind, quietly strong, and speaks excellent French, or so I would assume.
Circe, not so much as a role model but someone in whose footsteps I would walk, up until the point where she lost control, at which point I would attempt to avoid the same pitfalls.
13. Sort these words in order of appeal to you: beauty - glory - security - power - wealth - self-fulfillment - freedom. Explain your answer.
freedom- Because being able to do anything, without restraint (well, legal restraint and all, but hush) is a delightful thing
beauty- A lot of people think this is superficial, but art, music and poetry are critical to society. Not really talking physical here.
self-fulfillment- “Know thyself.”
power- To be able to do anything because no one can stop you is certainly dangerous, but the rush it gives you is great.
glory- A side effect of power, and not such a bad thing in and of itself.
security- I think being secure makes you too inclined to stay the way you are and never do anything.
wealth- Money simply has no real value to me. End of discussion.
