I haven't posted a REAL entry since my birthday, it seems, so here's I guess some catch-up on my life.
Am no longer single, haven't been since late July. Started dating my friend Ashley seriously, and things are going fairly well, though her family is VERY judgmental and while she doesn't judge me so harshly herself, she gets very nervous and paranoid about them doing so whenever they're around. And apparently when I leave they give her grief. Ah well.
I've just started the Texas Teachers' training course, and hopefully within the next 6 months will have settled into a teaching job! Yes, teaching. I'd like to become a science teacher. I'm supposed to say "it's all for the kids!" in interviews and stuff and I'll admit, I do feel a strong desire to inspire kids about science and all, but to be honest A) I like teaching B) teaching gives a decent enough salary to live comfortably on and C) being a teacher gives me the schedule I want - out at a reasonable hour on weekdays, weekends off, and summers off! I'm not one of those teachers that hates what they teach or hates kids - I learned I like teaching kids in Japan, and I of course love to help others learn. These things just go hand in hand.
I'm still working at Einstein Bros., though I had a decent raise and a transfer in November to their newly opened store. Things are going alright there, though I think they want to transfer me back to my old store, which takes longer to get to and won't give me as many hours. Which I need, because.....
I'm getting my own place! I'm getting an apartment in Irving, right on the corner of 161 and Northgate. This should help with a lot of things. 1) It's closer to work, by about 5 minutes. 2) It's closer to Ashley by like 45 minutes. This means we can spend time together just by her coming over, if we want, and we don't have to go out every single time we want to get together!
And most importantly, it allows me to be out on my own again. Working at Einstein Bros. while trying to do this is pretty risky - money will be very very tight! But I liked living on my own, and I want to get back on that road ASAP.
Well that's about it for me! Take care everyone!
