I feel like I am obligated to explain things to you, to tell you my reasons, my feelings... [He looks away from his Dreamberry, silent for several minutes] Suzaku, both Kallen and Gino were shocked to see me here in Somarium.
I suppose so. [He sighs] Despite being at peace with my decision, it is still painful to discuss and even more painful to see the hurt in the eyes of others. It was the only way, regardless of how I or anybody else may have felt.
Wasn't that the point of Zero Requiem, though? I wanted every ounce of hate gathered on me so all of it could be gone with my death. [He pauses for a moment] You don't deserve it, but I certainly do.
You're wrong, Lelouch. [he pauses, his expression neutral again, almost angry] I'm no better than you. I sold you for power, for a meaningless position...
[The saddened look on his face turns into a scowl, recalling the events Suzaku mentioned]
I'm well aware of what you did to me, Suzaku. I don't easily forget being in such a humiliating position in front of my father. But what I've done to the Japanese and the Britannians is far worse than you handing me over to that man.
Suzaku, how do I possibly begin to try and explain these things to you?

You've said enough already, Lelouch.

...So then, we went through with it?

I don't think Gino is going to forgive either of us any time soon. He hardly even said two words to me. [sighs] I haven't spoken to Kallen yet.

We deserve it though, don't we?
