I'm over twice as old as when even RotK came out...
Today in Fellowship of the Ring scenes that are much funnier when you are around the age of book Merry than it was when you were the barely-15-year-old kid that you were when the movie came out...
After all, as someone that's been old enough to drink legally as long as the age I was when the movie came out (I am now mostly not carded)... I know that yes, in fact, it does come in pints, and it is the standard size served at bars.
(Also, I am rather horrified to realize that people that were babies the year Fellowship of the Ring came out are old enough to legally drink- and the movie almost is!).
Also, Viggo Mortensen at the time of LotR filming no longer looks old to me- late 90s and early 00s Viggo in fact looks like a quite datable age for me. Late 90s and early 00s Elijah Wood and Orlando Bloom, on the other hand, looks like little boys to my 36-year-old eyes, even though at the time they were too old for me at the age I was at the time
