it'll be the perfect ending to the perfect day...
yesterday was so great. ross came over at nine. we watched Memento (you're right, meghan-it's really good!). we bought a giant bullfrog balloon for my mailbox.
and then ross convinced me we needed to go to the summit to look for a christmas gift for his mom. i knew it didn't sound like him to want to get into all the traffic and the crowds, but i just figured he was that desperate to find a gift. so i kept asking if he was ready to go, and he kept telling me we'd wait just a little while longer, making up excuses like lunch hour traffic and him needing to check his email.
so we get there and ross answers his phone, and it's e.j. apparently he and his mom are at Cheesecake Factory and just saw us in the parking lot and they want us to join them. so ross and i head inside and he looks around and starts walking toward a table... now he's in front of me, but when he steps to the side i see philip and alex sitting at a table in the direction ross is headed. and i swear the first thing it thought was how odd it was that they happened to be there too.
so i guess i am as gullible as they say i am. if nothing else, it makes it easier for them. ross had planned the whole thing as a huge surprise, and i had absolutely no idea. lunch at cheesecake factory, and then making me shut my eyes while he drove to the pelhma civic center to go ice skating. i haven't had a birthday party probably since second or third grade, and they had always been ice skating parties! philip and alex gave me a stuffed puppy dog and a card that was just so them. ross faked the whole conversation with e.j. and made all these plans and told lies...it was so sweet!
and then last night was great. twenty-one people in my basement for dirty santa (and catch phrase, of course), and nothing got broken or destroyed or dirtied. i had really missed seeing everyone. being home is my favorite.
