Three Cheers for the God of Fuck
Marilyn Manson on Wednesday was amazing! After much effort on both mine and John's part we managed to get very close to the front and I was SOOOO close to touching him when he came down to the crowd but when I got closer he went off-stage. Bastard!
The set list was a lot better than I thought it would be; I expected him to play just all his new stuff but he ranged across his whole career - didn't play 'Big White World', 'Coma White' or even 'The Nobodies' which was a shame but that's just my beef. It SHOULD have been longer though - he played for not long over an hour (hour and an half tops) which wasn't enough :-(
But hearing 'Tourniquet' was great, as was some old favourites - 'Irresponsible Hate Anthem' and 'The Beautiful People' - btw, I did not die during the first but the latter most certainly hurt a lot! I also now have a greater appreciation of the new album which is actually pretty cool.
He is most certainly (still!) 6'1" + 10 inches platform shoes of leather-clad, corpse-painted, sadistic yumminess. Merry Christmas to me :-D
