SPN Reverse Bang 2012: Art for Dovetail Shuffle
This was technically the first piece of art I made for spn_reversebang this year, but the second one to be posted.
Under the cut will be my original prompt and the additional art I made for the resulting story, " Dovetail Shuffle."
Don't ask me why. For some reason, I have this fascination with the collaboration between magician Hans Klok and actress Pamela Anderson. In case you weren't aware, she served as a magician's assistant to him for Vegas shows and such a few years ago. I already liked magic to a degree, especially the Masked Magician specials and TV show where he showed you how magic tricks are done. As my mind is wont to do, this got me thinking about a magician and his assistants being in a poly relationship, with everybody doing everybody else and everybody living magic. That's where this prompt came from.
Prompt 2011: The World's Most Dangerous Magician
This is not some of my best work. It was done pretty close to the deadline, so I made it in a hurry. I used pics of Hans Klok and his assistants to make these. The heads aren't quite right, and I kept running into the problem of Klok being way paler than Jared and I had to try to darken his skin. XD Still, I guess it serves its purpose. The name is a play off the fact that Klok is known as "The World's Fastest Magician," which fits because he and his team are scarily fast in how they perform some tricks (although, as a man, I'm not sure you want that title, harhar). I thought a magician might like to be known as dangerous.
I prefer blonde Katie, but it was too much extra work to remove the original woman's hair and then find suitable pics of Katie where I could not only move her face, but her hair too, and it would fit the space left by the missing black hair and... meh. In my mind, she's blonde, but sometimes wears wigs on stage just for the fun of it.
In the upper right picture, you can see the magic trick apparatus that is referred to as a "bedframe" in the story. :D
Title Card
I really liked the concept of this one, with the magician's cabinet. The only thing I don't like is the magician in this pic is tiny compared to Jared and is wearing a ridiculous tuxedo. XD Jared looks silly. I still like the concept.
