Jonah had a plan. He knew he wanted to take Peg out somewhere and he knew there was absolutely no way she was going to let him so the solution was very simple. He wasn't going to tell her. He had it all set up, the hotel room was paid for and he was all dressed up for the night. She couldn't say no if it was already set up, could she? He didn't

Peg liked the silence between them, her cheek pressed against his shoulder. He was so... kind. She was almost unaccustomed to someone like him.

Jonah gently kissed her forehead, speaking softly. "Almost there," he promised as they approached the building.

"I'm excited," Peg said with a soft chuckle. She sat up even more, ready to leave the car.

He chuckled, squeezing her hand. "You should be," he told her. "Stay here."

He got out of the taxi and paid the driver, running around to open her door and help her out. "Ready?"

"I think so?" Peg said, giving a small snort.

She took his hand and slowly made her way out of the car, hanging onto his arm as they approached their destination.

Jonah had already checked in and gotten their key, so he steered her directly to the elevator. He waited somewhat patiently for the elevator to come down and he led her inside when it finally arrived.

"-- Whoa," she said with a short laugh as the elevator started upwards. She gripped his arm tighter, still a little wary of the whole situation.

"Sorry, should have warned you," he chuckled, covering her hand with his. "We're a few floors up."

"Yeah, s'cool," Peg said, a little flustered. She got over that quickly and straightened up again.

He squeezed her hand as the doors slid open, gently guiding her down the hall. "Almost there," he said, stopping in front of their door. He took the key out of his jacket pocket to unlock it, pushing it open.

"Can I take this off now?"

"Almost," he promised, leading her into the middle of the room, closing the door behind them. He turned her toward the window, wanting her to have a good view when she first saw the room. "... Okay. You can take it off now."

Peg quickly untied the blindfold and gasped softly when she got a good look at her surroundings.

"Geez, Jonah..."

Jonah gave her a nervous smile, really hoping she didn't mind. That she'd stay. "Surprise?"

"Ya didn't have ta do this..."

[specificscotty]

"I know, Peg," he said, taking her hand. "I wanted to. I wanted to do this with you."
