Contrary to what the title says, my problems are actually ear-related.
Round about last Tuesday, my ears were feeling funny, kind of like I was really congested. Anyways, I was kind of dizzy since your inner ear is your balance center. And stuff sounded kind of funny. But I decided that I didn't want to go to UHS until I was sure it wasn't just congestion or something that would go away in a day or two.
Well, it didn't go away in a day or two. It's been a week and my ears are still messed up. They don't hurt really, but stuff is wierd and they are kind of sensitive and it's uncomfortable to listen to loud stuff (like microphoned voices or pianos). When I talk it feels like my whole head is shaking and it makes me a little lightheaded.
So it has been a week so I went to UHS and they bounced me back and forth between people for about an hour, during which time I got some reading done for my history paper. Then a guy looks at me and is asking me questions and stuff. He typically sticks the light thingy into my ear and looks around to see if I have wax in there (I like to keep my ears clean, so I knew that wasn't the problem). He couldn't see anything so he takes my temperature and feels me neck and stuff to see if I'm swollen, which makes sense I guess, to see if I'm sick or something. Then he took some tuning forks and was holding them next to my ears. The right side could hear better than the lef; the high pitched fork was quieter on the left, and the low one I couldn't hear at all on the left, though I could feel it vibrating my ear drum. I thought that the right side being better was wierd, because the right one wierder than the left.
So the guy didn't even do anything for me. He told me to set up an appointment to see the audiologist for a hearing test or something. I personally would rather go to an ENT to see what exactly is the problem. I already know that my hearing is messed up. So anyways, hopefully that will yield an end to my ear problems.
I think you've all heard enough of my aural afflictions for now.
