what a week!

so a ton of awesome shit has transpired in the past few days. a quick re-cap:

saturday began with an hiv test with tamar and kara. that was something that should have been done years ago, but i spose better late than never. we get our results this saturday, but i'm not too worried. we have to pick them up then, so if anyone wants to come and get tested, come along, it's better/easier to go with peeps. anyway, after the test, is when the good stuff started! the best part of that day was eating at china garlic (seiously, i want to eat there everyday) and seeing mika miko at pine st. seriously, aside from post-show drama, it was a really really fun show. the show was followed by a 230 in the morning safeway trip b/c ashley and i needed to get stuff for our kebabs, or shishs, but more on that later. ashley and i had a sleepover, rather gg (ashley's cat) and i had a sleep over. ashley and i proceeded to greet sunday morning with chocolate and peanut butter shakes and honestly i couldnt think of a better way to start off the day.

so now it's sunday and it's time for our epic bbq. ash and i made the best veggie and dessert kebabs ever! seriously, they were so good and we made a fancy blackberry compote for the dessert ones. of course, there were the usual mock meat suspects, but i do have to say that our skewers ruled the bbq. and if all that food wasnt enough, ashley and i went back to her casa and made sugar cookies for an evening potluck. that event was ok, the food was gone by the time we got there, but it's ok b/c all i really wanted were our delish cookies with an odd salmon colored frosting. another plus of that potluck was that i found out our rad friend from aussieland, erle, is in town and i'm stoked on that! anway, after we ate way too many cookies, ashley and i were gonna bike to some show, but we got lost so we just rode around and that was fun.

monday was also filled with excitement. a whole grip of us were sposed to go 'hiking' in tilden, but no one woke up in time, so we all went to mekong and gelato instead and that was amazing. seriously, if you havent eaten at mekong you need to do it right now. again, tuesday was filled with awesomeness b/c after our boaa meeting we all went to cha-ya and then to gelato again! so basically my life has been eating tons of delish food, and i'm really ok with that.

wednesday was really uneventful b/c i had to do some shitty econ problem set. econ totally sucks and i'll never get it but oh well. today, on the other hand, turned out to be really fun again. after class, kara and i went on a bike ride and sat around willard park. then off we went to a teach-in called "questioning the 'new middle east': war and resistence in lebanon." i'm very glad i went; it was really great to see so many friends and other ppl there and it was even better hearing judith butler speak. and to tone down the intellect of the eve we all saw talladega nights. i would not recommend spending money seeing this one, if you must see it though, i'd rent it, or dl it or something. it is so not on the same level as anchorman, and that is a damn shame.

so yeah, that's been my life. pretty awesome, i think. tomorrow night ashley, erle, and i get stranded in redwood city, so that'll be a fun advendture!
