On Sunday, November 4, 2012, I noticed my cream female hamster, Sassy breathing rapidly.  Recalling the same symptom in past hamsters, I suspected pneumonia, and that is what the vet diagnosed, too.  I've been giving her antibiotics everyday as instructed, but today, I found her still and not breathing, which meant death.  I had her for about 18

There have been things I've wanted to mention, but haven't gotten around to them.  Sorry if it's wrong to mention things that are so out-of-date.  That was one thing that has made me put off posting entries, comments, and replies: fear of you and others being mad at me for writing about outdated information and "not getting over them."  Besides ( Read more... )

Noticing Gigabyte's rapid breathing, I took her to the vet on Thursday, April 28, 2011.  The possibilities were pneumonia or other lung problems, such as abscess and tumors, so the vet prescribed antibiotics, and asked me to bring the Syrian hamster back two weeks later.

My two hamsters, Gigabyte and Kilobyte, have been becoming less active and eating less due to old age.  However, as February ended, Kilobyte didn't eat much, and I found him breathing rapidly Saturday night, February 26, 2011.  I thought he had pneumonia, because that was the cause of Sugar and Spice's shortness of breath a few years ago.

Terabyte was still active on September 26, 2009.  However, the following night, September 27, I found her body still, showing death.  I've only had her for a few months.

On Tuesday, May 12, 2009, I found my male hamster cold and still.  He had been sleeping a lot for the past two days, and now he was dead.

I replaced him with a new male hamster on Thursday, May 14.  Everytime I tried to touch him, he would curl up, hide, or run away.  He even did that when I approached his cage.
