the topic of today's lecture is: Couples. we'd all love to be part of one, and when we are, we often find we want out. so, where is the appeal of the couple? to always have someone around to notice your bad mood? to tell you how cool your hair looks? for love? love? no, i doubt that. is it so you can always have someone to pay for you at the movies? to give you rides? to write you notes that you can gloat about to your single friends? these are all selfish reasons. stupid reasons. a couple should involve two people giving a shit about each other. seeing something beyond the person's friends and seeing the person. maybe we can only realize this after breaking out of a shallow coupleship.
and then there are those different Types Of Couples. there's the standard seeing-each-other-once-a-month type that exists primarily among high school students. there's the really-really-sexual-couple that can never keep its hands to itself, much to the distaste of everyone around them, there is the way-too-into-each-other-may-as-well-be-married-fighting-over-the-shapes-of-pasta type couple that every single person loathes to be around. and, lastly, the hook-up. the s.e.o.o.a.m. type is my particular favorite because it gives you something to look foreward to while not overdoing this whole dating/lovng each other thing. this style often exists when the couple is separated by different schools. i despise the r.r.s.couples. i just wanna shout GET A ROOM AND MAYBE WE'LL COME TO THE BABY SHOWER. it's like they feel the need to flaunt they're partnership. i am also not a fan of the w.t.i.e.o.m.a.w.b.m. type. we're YOUNG, people. you have NOT found love yet, unless you're corey and topanga from boy meets world. stop pretending you will never love another and get a life. this last type is the one that cannot stop mentioning the name of the partner. this is the person who says things like OH I WENT TO SO AND SO'S HOUSE AND THEN I WENT TO BED. that's their day. their couple-person is their day. their LIFE. depressing to everyone but them, it seems.
