I originally posted this review on crunchyroll. I'm deleting my account on there so I thought I'd post here.
Melodrama does not always equal maturity. Throwing in a bunch of cliché, “never going to happen in a million years” obstacles at one single couple (Xia Tian and Ah Jian) really wasn’t necessary. It did not measure how deep their love was nor did it show how mature they were as characters. If anything, it showed that they did not trust their partner enough to tell them what's really going on. Personal growth starts when you learn to swallow your pride and ask for help. Two heads are always better than one.
(And I really wish that could get across the thick skull of some writers…)
Overall?
I’d rate this drama 2.5/5. And it only got that .5 added on because I thought the first half of the drama was charming.
If you're a Chen Qiao En lover, I'd skip this drama. Go watch The Prince that Turns into a Frog (for a MingEn fix) or Fated to Love You. This drama is not worth your time.
