Don't Mind Me, I'm Just Slightly Evil (You're All Very Lucky)
Well, I promised Naiad a post after I met her in person at the Harry Potter movie...a week ago. *shifty eyes* Eheh... What's worse is that it was in response to her saying I very rarely posted, but when I did it was long diatribes about shoes! Well, I suck at that posting thing even when I say that I'm going to do it, it appears. I apologize! Of course, even after amusing myself for picking on Snicks for being a geek for attending a Harry Potter party, this post is going to be mostly related to Harry Potter I think! Oh the irony.
From the standpoint of someone who hasn't read the books yet, it was a really enjoyable movie. I have heard from many other sources that it is all the better for cutting out some of the tedium of the book. I thought Harry was an ass in this movie, but it appears that he was moreso in the book. Yikes. And these are the books that I intend to get around to reading soon, should Halo acquire her books again for me to borrow! Well, if millions of other Harry fans made it through, so can I, I suppose.
My dad is a truck driver in this area, and he said he had a whole truckload of the final book ready for delivery earlier this week. I couldn't help myself. I asked him if he could sneak me one so that I could be even earlier owning it than all the real HP fans. Well, actually, my reasons weren't quite so noble...(and that wasn't really noble). I'll admit it. I wanted to get it, find the very page on which an important character dies or some important plot point is revealed, and broadcast it loud and clear on the internet, page number and all. Because I am a sadist. Or a masochist, however you want to look at it. You know I'd be skinned alive, burned, and crucified by an angry mob. Not necessarily in that order, either. But oooh man, it was a fun thought! Too bad my dad wouldn't indulge me in my sick and twisted fantasies.
And now! I go out for Thai Food! I bid you adieu until the next random time I write, internet! I have fulfilled my obligation to Naiad!
