Her heart ached from loneliness; it was a feeling she should have never had. She was strong willed and too busy for self-indulgent feelings like this. There was no reason for her to miss either of her former best friends. After all they had tried to betray her, with friends like that, who needs enemies?
It was all too easy to banish Mai from her mind. Mai was always bored, and thus had a boring personality. There wasn’t much in the young princess’ life to remind her of a bored friend.
But Ty Lee was a different story; completely different. She and the princess had bonded on an entirely different level. Their bond had been strong. Azula had never expected to crave the company of another, but Ty Lee did things like that to her. The acrobat had always had a way of making her do stuff she didn’t understand like that. But still, Ty Lee betrayed her, so there should be any reason for Azula to feel that way still.
It should have been no different than the time Ty Lee ran off to the join the circus. It didn’t bother Azula one bit then. But that was then. And apparently things had changed. Before Azula hadn’t even sworn never to see the aspiring acrobat again, this time she had. It should have been easier for her this time, right?
With every day that passed since Azula ordered Ty Lee be locked up permanently, her heart’s longing grew. It told her to go see Ty Lee. To find satisfaction. She could not act on her feelings though, it would be showing weakness. She just had to suffer silently with the urge of wanting Ty Lee.
