The fog seemed thicker as the ships sailed to their destination. After a difficult navigation they arrived at the location where Hakoda was going to meet the Avatar. He had been worried about his children’s safety. The Fire Nation was a dangerous place for outsiders, but even more so if you were with the Avatar.
It wasn’t that he didn’t trust the Avatar and his children to be able to protect each other; he was worried because the Avatar had been injured severely and was disorientated and upset.
It wasn’t long after his party landed on the island that he saw his children. When he saw that his children were safe he expressed a sigh of relief, not only were they safe, but they were determined and strong.
He believed that the world would soon feel the joy he felt in his heart, the parental pride for his children’s successful survival in a hostile land, when the Avatar completed his mission.
