Well it's been a little over 3 weeks since the big move back to Atlanta and the new job. The move went pretty smoothly and I'm getting used to the new apt. and location. The job is going well too. It's very frustrating going from a job where you knew everyone and had a work routine to being the new guy and not knowing what's going on. I know it normally takes a few months to learn a new job, but it's still frustrating. The people are nice and it's only a 20 minute commute from my apartment (mainly due to the stop lights). At my old apt. in NC, an older woman lived above me and I hardly ever heard her. At the new place, it's either a single guy or couple that live above me. I haven't met them in person yet, but I know they have a squeaky bed....if you catch my drift.
I've pretty much done all the address updates and changed over my driver's license. The only problem has been with registering my car in GA. I know how much trouble dealing with the DMV can be so I made sure I went to the website to make sure I had all the necessary documents to register my car. The website noted this one location was open on Saturdays, which I thought was great so I didn't have to take time off of the new job, but when I got there (at 7:30 am on a Saturday), it was closed - only open Mon-Fri 8-4:30...strike one! My boss was understanding about me taking time off to go so today I went to the DMV first thing in the morning. I was 15th in line and only had to wait 5 minutes before my number was called. I had all my paperwork in order, but was told I needed the original bill of sale for the car or a copy of the title from the lien holder. When I told the clerk it was not on the website, she politely gave me a printed list of the NEW requirements. Although I was pissed off big time, I knew getting mad at the clerk was not going to do any good. I thanked her for her help and left... strike two!! I have what I needed (I hope) and going back again in the morning. Wish me luck.
I've been catching up with old friends too (lunch, dinner, movies) and it's nice to know I can get together with them pretty much any time I want now instead of every couple of months. I even feel like dating again, if I can find someone worthy of me...haha. Is Grindr a good place to find a soulmate?
