So I've played a lot of games lately, but I kinda hate talking about that all the time, so I'll make that part quick. Evil Genius is my current "it's 3:00am already?" game, Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box is the one I play on the go and then for a while after I get where I'm going to, and Team Fortress 2 is the old standby. Oh, and the Brutal Legend demo is awesome; not my genre, but I'll definitely have to pick the game up at some point. It's obviously a love story, and the level of craft is fantabulawesome. A must own. (I'll be too busy with Uncharted 2.. and maybe the new R&C:F.)

I also bought my first Beatles CD this past week. The Sgt. Pepper remaster. Tres sweet. Gonna have to pick up Magical Mystery Tour next. (Took a look at that mono box set... yikes that's expensive..)

Work's kept me busy. Fun stuff. No complaints.

Our landlord's currently doing battle with the dark forces at DirectEnergy. There's a pile of poop on the front stoop. It's been raining all week. My shoes are falling apart. (The bottom on the left has cracked exposing my toes to a gentle breeze/puddles.) I think that rounds out most of my "complaints."

For entertainment learning purposes, I've been trying to figure out a way to procedurally generate trees. I'm using Python + OpenGL + euclid. (Just drawing lines for now.) Not going so hot. I'd like to be able to animate it growing in real time, but finding a reference stop-motion video on the web of a tree growing for a period of longer than a year has been difficult. And then there's working out sane ratios of growth in trunk girth vs height vs branches etc., the angle that branches grow at, whether or not I need to actually do sun-checks to figure out which branches should grow more, etc... It's all an interesting problem, though. Fun in its own way.

The first DX11 video card parts have hit; it won't be long before Windows 7 comes out. I'm looking forward to speccing out a new system. I'll probably wait for the NVIDIA parts to come out, though; hopefully that'll cause a price adjustment on the Radeon HD 5870. $410 CDN's just a little too rich for my blood.

(Yeah, this reads a lot like a 'stuff I bought, stuff I wanna buy' post, but tbh, the rest of what's been going on in my life is largely parenting. And who really wants to read a poopy diaper blog? :)
