Why does Edward Cullen go to school?

I was bored and I suddenly wondered why he would have any need to go to school. I googled the question and responses I got were:

1. Boredom
2. To remain inconspicuous as vampires

These are both retarded reasons. School would alleviate boredom once perhaps, but I find it hard to believe that there is no, more interesting alternative than going to school for several decades. As for the inconspicious thing, surely it's more conspicuous that a guy goes to school and never ages from grade to grade? Not only that but isn't being around humans at all a massive threat to them? So this guy, is endangering an entire school so he's not bored.

I think the only reason that clearly fits is that he is a paedophile in a 17 year old's body, thus in that sense it is inconspicuous, since noone expects a 17 year old to be a paedophile with other 17 year olds.

Of course this reason stands even more in the case of Vampire Knight, where they have a whole fucking class of them. Just what the fuck are they learning that they haven't in the past centuries? High school vampires are retarded. End of.

twilight, rant
