Yet another link from unitarians: a PDF of 100 Questions that Non-Members Ask About Unitarian Universalism, a booklet published by the UUChurch of Nashua.

Offers answers to the immortal question "That's that religion where you can believe anything you want, right?" and also explains the history of UUism, the UUA, format of services, rituals, etc.

We've had a lot of interesting questioners on unitarians lately, and in answer to one of them someone posted a link to this sermon. It's fantastic (and lets me out of the difficult work I'd been planning, of defining UUism for y'all).

( Belief in Christ is definitely not necessary for joining this church, and even if it were, it wouldn't be sufficient for joining this church. We want more than that from you. )

Today at church we had a membership meeting instead of a sermon, to decide two important points: the second was whether we're going to take up a collection to install solar panels on the roof, since right now the government is subsidizing it 70% (after January 1 it drops to 60%); I don't know whether it passed or not, but that's not why I'm writing ( Read more... )
