Family
This week's been interesting. Dad had an accident on Monday and has been in the hospital in Bath since then; he's broken four ribs. Mum is collecting him from the hospital this afternoon. Hannah and Colin came down from London on Tuesday and together with my brother we've all been taking it in turns to visit him twice a day. I did a load of cooking/baking on Tuesday so that there was food for everyone and yummy things to take to Dad. His injuries could have been far worse, though breaking four ribs is pretty bad, so I I suppose we should count him lucky and just hope is doesn't try and do too much too quickly. Though this really does highlight how much I need a job and soon; dad is the only person in the house who earns, this leads me on to...
I've applied for a few jobs in the last couple of weeks but so far nothing, I've got two jobs I need to apply for by early next week that I think I should have a good shot at. Fingers crossed please.
I've enrolled on to a e-learning Subediting course, it should take me about two months to complete and will give me much needed skills and experience that I hope could secure me one of the aforementioned jobs. I was deliberating over which course to plump for, for some time, but I really want to get into magazine production rather than continue with books so I've gone with subediting rather than copyediting. I'm also brushing up on my grammar and punctuation which needs to be perfect if I'm going to get a job any time soon.
Oh and I've been given the task of doing my Dad's business accounts. Joy.
Anyway, I need to do some housework, there are a few things I could do with ranting on about but God knows if I'll have the time in the next few days.
