I had a lovely sunny weekend outside of Mt. Vernon, visiting Dan's mom, step-dad, and 11 year old sister. K and the sister played well, although the girl was a little loud for my preferences. The dad was nice, and interested in political conversation. He's a goldsmith with an awesome little shop, which he showed me in detail. I got so see photos of Dan, and wow, interesting. He looked like the freaky one for sure! The house was neat, with play structures all around the outside, including a neat tree house. Ialo saw photos of his only lasting girlfriend, a pretty blond girl who looked really normal.

They had a small guest room with girly stuff in it, and K was excited to sleep there. Thankfully so, because a double bed is not big enough for three people! This time around, we need a bit less co-sleeping. We had plenty of grown up time. I really liked his mom, who's a long-curly-gray haired larger-in-the-middle style goddess figure, like a prosperity figurine. She is smart and fun to talk to and calm and easy going. I felt like a dork here and there, as always, but I felt pretty comfortable the whole time, as if there was no time when I was being judged. I didn't feel nervous around any of them, and they seemed to like me. I keep thinking, this is what "fit" is all about. hozzah!

We walked about a mile to the lower meadows of their property and sat by a stream. They threw huge rocks in and told stories of the generations that had the property (maternal side) and what they had seen living there for so many years.

It was pretty easy to say good bye even though I may not see Dan for several days. I am just crazy about him, more and more.
