Tiffany and I arrived in Austin last night. After getting about four hours of sleep (my fault for playing video games with David and then hanging out with Eliza instead of packing,) we left for the airport at about 9:15 yesterday morning. We ate at Sweet Tomato (which I highly recommend if you're in the Schaumberg area) and then hung around the airport for awhile.
Best airport moment:
After looking at my ID and boarding pass for several moments, the woman in charge of giving me the luggage tags said, "Are you Tiffany?"
...yeah.
Not only that, but she seemed even more confused when Tiffany spoke up (because I was just giving her a really messed up look) and said, "I'm Tiffany, but it's okay because we're traveling together." What? There's a name on my ID and boarding pass? What? Two different people can possibly travel to the same destination? Huh?
Okay.
We spent the whole day in Austin (although most of it was driving around, but we decided we didn't care--we didn't have to call once because we were lost. We rule.) I think the best part of the day was eating at Sonic--completely crappy food, of course, but it's brought to your car by a person on roller skates...and you can just pay with your credit card in the drive-in order menu. I'm so amused by such small things I'd say it's not even funny...but I think it is. I had a drink that reminded me of childhood there.
Now we're going to get ready and go to 6th Street...Against Me! is tonight! I'm so excited. Updates later.
I was just watching Pru (the australian shepard) and Ranger (the 5 month old DSH) play fight. Cutest thing ever. Pru had her whole mouth around Ranger and stopped, and Ranger just smacked her face really hard when she wasn't looking.
