wonderous in many ways

So.....
Let's start our little update with last thurs, when I went to see the Onion Cellar in Harvard with tamilla.
It was good fun. Although the drummer for the Dresden Dolls was the source of much consternation for me. He's just not that good. But hearing the Dolls live was fun, and the show was quite neat. The performance space at the A.R.T. is incredible though, and definitely deserves a repeat visit.
I can say that Tamilla and I definitely enjoyed ourselves, and I found myself a bit teary during bits of the show as well. Great entertainment. Huge kudos go to the girl in the bear costume. Wow.
Friday was a nice early day for me, went to lunch with the girls from the office to Bertucci's, and left to go home and get stuff together for our trip down to the Cape. Went out to dinner with Larry, Mike and Paget, altough Paget showed up after our meal, we hit up the freshly re-opened Mr. Crepe (!!) to much excitement from our end, and then I went to see Pan's Labyrinth. Um. WTF for that flick. It's incredibly well made, with fantastic acting, direction, etc. However if you thought like I did, that this was just a neat dark fairy tale, boy, the disappointment and horror.
It's so gory. And completely brutal. With tiny glimpses of fantasy, which are also quite dark and foreboding. There's blood, and guts, and little girls getting shot by fascists. THERE.

Sorry, that's just too much for me.
I think we were all quite aghast at it. Just way over the top. Perhaps it was just our mood, or false expectations, but I definitely never wish to see that again. I'm a little surprised by the goddamn false reviews too....Or maybe I just never caught the real ones.
Anyways. Saturday brought lovely brunch with the various sundry boys who were still at our pad in the morning, and Larry and I departed for the Cape mid-afternoon.
Made good time, checked in to our lovely little cottage room, and took in the sights. and flavors. Much good food, and relaxation, and a fun drive up to Provincetown to hang with Oliver and Karen on Sun. We ate breakfast at Dino's in Harwichport on the way, which ROCKED. Super homey/simple no frills type of little hole in the wall/local legend where EVERYTHING was super deliciously perfect. Seriously.
I was stoked to finally get to visit Provincetown. I loved it of course.
All in all, wonderful mini-vacation. Hope we can do it again.
The Red Horse Inn was great. (Except that they lie when they say they have wireless. Ha. Wireless my ass. If you mean a box in the basement that does NOT give you a strong enough signal to log on, and even if it does, you can't actually get online. So yeah. Oh well.) Turns out it's a motel, (not sure what the difference is) BUT, what motel gives you a room with a double whirlpool, feathertop queen bed, and working gas fireplace? Yup. It was wonderfully cozy. Just wish I got to enjoy the whirlpool more!
or you know, got to take it home.
It was nice to get back to our nice clean house (no sarcasm there either, Larry made sure everything was nice and tidy before we left) and play the Wii. Which by the way, is so much fun. My god.
:)
Alright, I think the time has come.... for LUNCH!

theater, vacation, cape
