almost home time
Yep that is right. It is almost time for me to get on a plane and go home for a 3 day weekend. It should be a good one. Jan and I have been looking forward to this coming weekend for months. This is our campout weekend with friends. A whole bunch of us geocaching nuts are going up into the Cohuttas to spend the night. That may even mean that there will be a night time cache that we can participate in.
I'm flying out mid afternoon on Thursday. That allows me to be home Friday, Saturday and most of Sunday. Then I fly back into Michigan Sunday night for about 3 more weeks. The company has been very good about making sure I get some home time every so many weeks and they are even open to allowing me to take 3 or 4 day weekends as circumstances allow.
I'll be glad to go home. Today was a typical Monday. The one thing you never expected to go wrong did. I was the victim of a theft.
We were working on a project and today's task was to mount some 24" x 24" data cabinets on the walls of some buildings. We drove the van around to the buildings, but there was no place to park so we stopped in the street and unloaded the cabinets and stuck them out of the way next to the wall. We had to do that in two locations. Then we parked the van.
We walked around the building and stopped to mount one of the cabinets (it took about 5 minutes) and then went around to mount the second cabinet and guess what? Yep, it was gone!
College kids will steal just about anything, it seems. Fortunately the cabinets only cost about $120, so it wasn't a major loss, just irritating. I keep expecting the thing to turn up on ebay.
