General update

Well, truth to tell, it hasn't really been all that quiet nor has it really been all that busy, but it has been a couple of weeks full if things to do and that has kept me offline more than I am used to.
It all began with Thanksgiving and that went over very well.  We spent the day at my folks where the cousins all got reaquainted with each other and played.
Jan, Corey and I got home that night and the next day I spent at church installing a Wi-fi network.  The church was looking to do some investing for the future and that was one of the goals that they wanted to pursue, to have a wireless network throught the classrooms and main building so that they could stream video and audio etc.  And since I was something of an expert on the subject matter, I volunteered to do the work.
Saturday was Light Up Blue Ridge and that was fun, but it was also pretty darn cold that day.  So we went to town for the middle of the day activities, but when the sun started to set, and it started to get really cold, we decided that we could light up our living room next to a fire and enjoy it just as much.  So we went home and up went the Christmas Tree,
The next week was quite busy as we are getting ready for the client to come in and critique the development of the prototye converter which we must deliver in the middle of December.
In the meantime, I am still catching coons and dragging them off to turn them loose about 5 miles from the house.  We are down to about 3 left.  I don't mind them as they are fun to watch, but they can be pests at times, especially if there are too many around.
I've been collecting spools.  At work we get wire and cable on these medium sized wooden spools anywhere from 1 to 3 feet in diameter.  They were just being broken down and thrown away so I decided to take some of them home.  We got some cans of paint and are painting them.  Corey likes to roll them around and line them up to play with them, For now that is all I have planned for them, but I am brainstorming for something to do with them.  I have a few ideas already.  Jan just rolls her eyes at me.
This past weekend was actually very nice.  It started off with what I would call a "perfect evening".  Jan and Corey met me Friday night at the Whistle Stop where we had dinner.  Afterwards, since even though it was dark outside, it wasn't cold,  so we went to the park where it was all lighted up with electric blue lights.  No tourists meant Corey could run and play in the electric glow of the park at night.  At some point was wandered over to where the ice skating rink is and Corey got to try out some ice skates.  He had a great time and so did I.  We may not have stayed there long, but for about 3 hours on Friday night, I couldn't think of anything I would rather be doing.
On Saturday, the weather was great and Corey and I spent 4 to 5 hours puttering around town while Jan caught up on some household chores and got some much needed rest.  Then on Sunday, with the hardware for the church Wi-fi network coming in the mail on Saturday, I spend a couple of hours after  church bringing the network online.
The only sad part of the weekend came at 6pm on Sunday when the weekly case of the "blahs" came in.  That is the point where we realize that the weekend is essentially over and it is time to go back to work.
