After the fiasco at Blood Mountain, I am getting a lot of flack from my family about solo-geocaching and hiking. I made a new year's resolution that I was going to hike the entire length of the BMT in Georgia this year (in sections). I figure around mid march I will start kitting the various sections one at a time. Factor in some missed weeks for bad weather and such, I should be finished with the 75 miles before the weather turns cold again.
But I need a hiking partner. I would prefer Jan. There is no one better, but she may not be up to it with her erratic health issues. They think she may have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
So where does a 43 year old find a hiking partner? My first two candidates, Daryn and Tim have indicated that they are either too old or too out of shape to hang with me.
