Post-Paris Post...what?

So this weekend I headed off to Paris.  It was actually the most uneventful trip that we've had in our travels, mainly because we finally didn't miss a flight.  We got in around midnight on thursday night and just went to our hostel and went to sleep.  Then on Friday morning we got up early and braved the metro system to get to the Louvre.  The building is ridiculously huge, and we got to see a lot of sweet paintings and sculptures inside.  My top 3 favorites were...

1.  Mona Lisa
2.  Venus De Milo
3.  The Clubfooted Boy (A spanish painting we discussed in my art class...google it!)

We spent a good portion of the day in the Louvre, and then we went back to our hostel and all took a nap.  After the nap we went out to a sweet french restaurant and got some delicious food, and then headed back to the hostel and just drank and played some card games in the room.  Saturday we got up and explored the city some more, heading to Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower.  The Eiffel Tower was crazy and we actually were able to go the whole way to the top (don't let anyone tell you the Eiffel Tower isn't gigantic).  The view was incredible, but it was unreal cold and windy.  We took the stairs to the second observation deck, but the only way to get to the top from there is to wait in line for the elevator.  Well, standing in like for 30 min. was horrendous in the wind/cold, but it was worth it.  Then, we went back to our hostel and cooked dinner for ourselves, and I actually went to bed early because I had a horrendous cold and felt like dying.  Sunday we went to the Musee d' Orsay, and we got to see a couple sweet paintings there.  I got to see some sweet Monet and Van Gogh paintings, and I actually also was able to see the infamous Whistler's Mother.  It was a good time.  We then proceeded to the airport and our plane left at about 5:40pm.  The flight was pretty rough at the start because we took off from Charles DeGaulle in the midst of a hurricane (seriously, the wind/rain was terrible), but we got back to Sevilla and all was well.

This week has been decent so far...my cold is going away and I just found out that Jordi is coming to visit Sevilla for my last weekend here!  It'll be a great time, and I'm so pumped I get to see him again before I leave Spain.  I'm sure we'll have a crazy time, and I'll be sure to post the happenings of the weekend with my favorite Spaniard.  Also, Fina got a puppy over the weekend, which was a nice addition to the house since Antonio (Abuelo) left for Barcelona.  The dog's name is Tobi, and he's a 2-month-old chihuahua, with black and brown fur.  He's cute, and I'm gonna try to post a picture soon.  Other than that, things are pretty quiet in Spain...lots of work to do these next 2 weeks.

This brings me to my last point...in 15 days, I will be leaving Spain and returning to the United States of America.  I'm definitely going to be sad leaving Spain, because I've had such an amazing time, but I'm also really excited to get back home, see my friends, and restart my real life.  I def. have grown a lot in my time in Spain, and I have a better outlook on things in general.  I'm excited to get home and see everyone, and if you're gonna be in the Hollidaysburg area from Dec. 20-mid January, give me a call.  I already know my break is gonna be filled with showing pictures to the family, visiting family, catching up with friends, having about 12 friend-related reunions at El Camp (way better than shitty Tijuana Flatts, FYI Morris), football, and hanging out with the guys at Betty James's house (this inherently entails Sheetz runs, Mormon Billiards, Baconators, and so much more).  Business is about to pick up in Hollidaysburg in 15 days...I hope everyone is ready.

I've chosen this sweet song because I will soon be returning home to my own familiar landscapes...and because it has an awesome sound...

New Found Glory
"Familiar Landscapes"

Let's fall deeper into sleep
And our dreams become fake reality
I wake, i hope.
I'm on my way, to a coast
Where I know the roads like the back of my hand
Familiar landscapes

And I know that this is new
Like your first day of school
And you're feeling awkward
Like you miss your home
And it leaves you with an empty feeling
I just can't take it anymore

What do you want from me?
What do you want from my life?
What do you want from me?
Cause my heart can't take it
My heart can't take this anymore
You feel deeply misplaced
Your world has been built to crumble
You hope and pray everyday it works out
And it leaves me with this empty feeling
I just can't take it anymore

What better time than now to bandage your bleeding
And I won't stop till I fix your misleading
Your charm of course you use as a weapon
But my heart can't take it

Later Days!
