Well, I haven't been on here in a while, but there's a decent amount to talk about. Right now I am sitting here, getting ready to go to Contemporary Poetry in a few, so this post might be short. A few weeks ago, I got to take a fun trip to Hegins, PA. It's a super small town, but Megan's cousin was getting married, so I went to the wedding and spent the weekend in a cabin in the woods. It was a pretty good time seeing all of the people ridiculously drunk at the reception, and just getting to meet some of the family that I always hear about, but never see.
However, October sucked really bad because Megan's grammy died and my pap died within a week of each other, so that was really hard to deal with. I'll miss my pap, he was definitely a role model to look up to, mainly because he was a good man and he enjoyed his life to the fullest. The family has had a really hard time dealing with it, but everything is somewhat better now. I also miss Megan's grammy, because she was always really nice to me and she was a cute old lady.
School has been interesting, to say the least. My classes aren't too bad, they're hard, but I like them for the most part. I should probably do some work and rip up on my finals to ensure a good GPA, so there's a lot of work in the next few weeks. Stats and Cog. Psych are both ridiculous, and I can't wait until the semester is over, mainly because stats makes me want to kill myself (the teacher loves to make students suffer...I'm 100% serious).
This weekend was Fiesta Latina, a giant Latin dinner at Juniata, sponsored by Club International, Spanish Club, etc. Spanish Club has over 150 members, and I'm the secretary for it. On Friday night we cooked our 2 dishes (for 200 people). Everyone assumes I'm the president or something, so I had to organize everything and cook. There were 5 people from Spanish Club (including myself) to help with cooking. I was really jacked nobody showed up to help, and we cooked from 7pm-3:30am friday night/sat. morning, and then 1-4 sat. afternoon. Our refried beans turned out really nasty, and I hate making them. Our Torta de Espinaca (like a spinach quiche) turned out pretty good. I had fun cooking, and this random kid named Dan helped us cook. The girl who had the house we cooked at met this kid at the bar and he was home for the weekend. He said all these random thoughts, and he was so entertaining. At one point he starts going "duh duh duh duuh dun, duh duh duh duuh dun, duh duh duh dun. Quick, what song is that?" and I told him I wasn't sure and he just goes, "It's the National Geographic song!" Hahahaha. Then when we cooked the beans, he went on for about 20 min. about the endless possibilities that lard could be used for (all entertainment). His quote here was "you could grease up a whole room with it. Or you could just put it on important stuff you don't wanna drop...like babies or fine china." It was hilarious.
Megan and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary on Nov. 1, and that was awesome. I remember when we first started dating, and it feels like just yesterday. She's still my favorite. I went up to PSU for the weekend and we went out to eat a few times (Outback and Applebees, both amazing). We also just enjoyed the PSU atmosphere, well, I did, she's used to it. I like going to PSU because it's so different from Juniata, mainly because there are about 38,000 more students and the campus is huge. I think I might go to PSU for grad school, which would be awesome. The plan is to live with Pope, which would be ridiculous.
Random fact: When I visited St. Francis to see Kim and Travis, they told me the campus has burned down twice, both due to candles in dorms. That's ridiculous.
Alright, well I'm off to another ridiculous poetry class. Stay classy, 3 +/- 2 people who read this journal.
Later Days!
