so what an interesting day...as well as painful.
well this weekend started off wonderfully. drinks w/ dawn, logo designing w/
mmayhem, pumpkin carving w/
mmayhem and
truckerspike, and then wonderful play time.
and today even started off wonderfully waking up next to two very sexy people, having a wonderful 2+ hour conversation about everything, finding exactly what i needed at lowes, finding good movies at blockbuster...and even getting my sewing cart today!!
i got the cart up to my apt all by myself. i used the hand cart that the office had. it was still difficult but i was determined to do it.
i decided to vacuum my living room before putting it together b/c there were a lot of fabric scraps. so the table was in its box yet, laying on the floor. i get in front of it and start pulling it into the dining room.
now i am not exactly sure what happened but either the box or my foot slipped and the box when right over my left foot...taking my big toe nail w/ it.
it hurt at first, but i thought i had just scraped it at first...but it didn't let up. then i saw a little blood stain at the end...i took the sock off and i saw under my nail.
the toe nail had come completely off and was only on by a piece of the cuticle. cold sweat, light headiness, nausea, and stomach churning started to ensue. thankfully
truckerspike answered his phone and him and
mmayhem were on their way. it was so completely off and raised off the toe that they couldn't put it back in place w/o causing a lot of pain.
so we made our way to convenient care. there were a lot of creepy people there in the waiting room...and very rude too.
so the doc came in, said "poor thing" a lot (he was very sweet), and shot me up w/ lidocaine...ended up w/ 3 shots over all...and those hurt like a bitch! i was actually yelling in pain, almost passed out and threw up. they had to get me out of the wheel chair and onto the table before i did either of those things.
so the doc put the nail back in place, taped it up, surrounded it w/ gauze, and wrapped an ace bandage around. it felt wonderful while it was numb but of course it doesn't stay forever.
the three of us came back to my place and we watched Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium and Elizabeth while
truckerspike put together my cabinet :-)
so now i have to wait for my nail to grow back..hopefully soon. of course this is going to cut down on the number of activities. thankfully i won't miss out on my sigh language class...be silly to use my feet hehe.
thank you again so much
mmayhem and
truckerpsike for everything today. it really helped having you both there *kisses*
here is a pic of what it looked like. so if you are really squeamish i recommend not looking ;-)
