“Now how is the Bermuda Triangle gonna work,” Jade declared as she walked in between Nat and I, “with one point missing??” She casually swung her arms on our shoulders. “I mean we already got our field or earth right.” She tried to comfort us, and our depressing mood.
She’s winging it! I smiled at her efforts and Natalie rolled her eyes, Jade was one of the cheesiest people I knew.
“And…our three elements, Fire, water,” she looked at Nat, “and wind!” she hugged me tighter, “but we can’t be complete without our La Nina!” She gave me a smile, and I gave her a proper hug.
Jade had a quirky way of putting things together, they didn’t even have to be related in real life, but she would make the idea twist and turn until it fit her description. Amazingly enough, Nat and I were one of the only people who understood what she would say. Before we reached the girl’s change rooms, a sniffling sound came from the right, and I looked to see that Nat was trying to wipe her tears away.
“Natty,” Jade and I crooned in unison as she pulled us both into a group hug.
“Couldn’t you stay just a bit longer?” Nat sobbed, “I know you have to go, but…soon Shelly is going to want to join us, and it’s not going to be the same, and then Jade is going to want to leave and stick around with Harry, then-“
“Are you stupid?’ Jade released her hug, “we stick together like tea and biscuits!” she chuckled and I started to walk with Nat into the change rooms, and sat her down in the same place she was seated in the morning. I started unpacking my shower stuff and taking off my cloths and shoes, as Jade sat down beside Nat and tried to assure her, at one point Nat had stopped worrying and started to cry because of the embarrassment.
I pretended like I wasn’t there, I was never good at these types of situations, and Natalie never liked to make a big commotion, so I let Jade handle it. Not only that, ever two minutes someone would come up, friend or foe and tell how they would miss me and how it was a loss, give me a hug or a pat on the shoulder and go.
I finally got into a shower and pulled the curtain shut. Hope that was the last of the goodbyes. I fully undressed and turned the shower knob to the right. The hot water started to hit my back, one droplet after another, till they were all in sync. I turned around and started to rub my neck as the heat started warming up my back, letting out a sigh, while the warmth began to spread to the rest of my body.
Sunshine, blue skies please go away, Go and find another and gone away. I silently hummed the song I heard earlier in the car. The Temptations are the Mercer’s band. Evelyn had all their songs; I could remember her always putting on a disk on the record player when Dean and I were over. She would be teaching me how to make a certain dish and Jack would be there too, while Angel, Jerry, Bobby, and Dean would be doing other things that really didn’t matter to us…at the age of 7.
“Roxannnnneee!” someone screamed my name from the other side of the change room.
“In here!” yelling as I popped my head out of the shower. Kelly Davies came stood in front of the shower entrance.
“People are waiting for you outside”
“Tell them 15 minutes.” I pulled my head back in and quickly rinsed my body. I had already finished washing my hair, and I was going to take another shower when I got home. I wrapped my towel around myself and took my stuff to blow dry my hair.
My hair was almost dry when I felt someone slap my bum; I turned around to see Nat in her towel, and Jade going to go change.
“You really take long to get ready.” Nat pointed out as she tousled her hair.
“So I’ve been told.” I smiled and turned off the dryer. “Someone seems to feel better!” she smiled back at me.
We had all finally finished changing and we were headed out of the building.
“But what if something really big happens-“
“And your not here!” Nat interrupted Jade
“Like me and Harry get married!” Nat and I started laughing, and couldn’t stop because of how innocent she said it. “Well it could happen!!” she said, boiling up.
“Ok,” I calmed myself down, “just call me I mean, I already gave you Iker’s number and I’ll call you when I get a permanent number, don’t worry!!” I hugged Jade, and she squeezed back in return. Jade and Nat continued to bicker about how “our strategy” on the field is not going to be used anymore until I came back. I didn’t want to stop them and tell them I wouldn’t be coming back.

We were about to leave, exiting from under the Anfield sign. I kissed my hand and reached up to hit the sign on my way down, giving my last goodbye. I caught Jade smiling at me from the corner of my eye. We finally got outside as the last bit of sunshine hit our faces.
“VAMOS ROXANNE!!” Pepe yelled from the parking lot surrounded by the other Spaniards and Sean; all of them leaning either against Pepe and Nando’s car. I nodded in response and he turned around and continued talking. I tried to plant my feet into the ground so I wouldn’t have to go anywhere.
“He’s really loud!” I laughed quietly to Jade’s response.
“Come on.” Natalie grabbed my arm and started to lead me towards where the men were standing. I looked over to her and crinkled my nose, “I know,” she replied under her breath. The walk took a shorter time then I thought, you could here all the guys talking in Spanish, enjoying their time. I stopped a few feet away from them and turned around to face the girls.
“I’m really going to miss you ladies,” I looked at Nat and Jade and opened my arms.
“Gonna miss you too!” Jade and Nat replied in unison and came to hug me. Nat let go first but Jade held on for a few extra seconds.
“Don’t worry they’ll be plenty of men in Spain to shag.” She whispered in my ear and let go. I couldn’t help but smile, she knew me a bit too well.
“Alright I’ll keep calm!” I drew in a breath; everyone had left with Pepe or Xabi, except for Fernando.       "Alright…bye bye loves!” I gave them both a peck on the cheek and dashed into Fernando’s car.

As we drove off I rolled down my window and waved to the two of them. I felt that it would be the last time I would see them. Both were tired, slouching, trying to keep their bags off the ground, and I could see Nat tearing up. I turned away before the affect got to me.
