Ok. So I haven't posted in a long time. The fact that I've pledged to post every interesting thing that has happened in my wretched life coupled with the fact that I haven't posted in awhile AND the fact that the last thing I posted was entirely about the bathroom on the 4th floor at work should add up to a revealing snapshot of life for me. B to the O Ring!
All that, however, changed a couple of days ago.
Y'see, this week the company I work for hooked up with Rosetta Stone.
Thusly, I am now able to take a prohibitively expensive language course for free (to me) on the company dime.
I have elected to take Hindi. If you had asked me last year at this time, I would have been all over Japanese, but lately I've been into all things Indian. Dunno why... just have.
Actually, I DO know why. It's this guy's fault:
Sukshinder Shinda Y'see, the Future
Mrs-Spamlad and I went to an Indian restaurant with friends last year and they had a DVD of Punjabi music videos playing. The one that really caught me was for "Oh Na Kuri Labdi" which was a collaboration with this other dude,
Jazzy B.
At first glace, it was the silliest thing I ever did see, but after watching and listening to it for a bit... and then buying the album, (entitled "Collaborations") off of iTunes, I started digging it that much more.
I've always been somewhat fascinated with the country and culture of India, but now I can dig in that much deeper... FOR FREE!!
In these situations I can never tell if I'm more of an open minded individual or a blatant opportunist.
*sigh* Blatant Opportunist wins.
Oh, well.....
