what is she going to do, take away my self-denial privileges?

it's been a while since i've updated, internet. i attempted a few entries over the holidays, but never got too far in. it was very yada yada, oh hey, sugar cookies. so now it's january, correct?

i didn't take a break from work, so school starting up seemed sudden (and alliterative). but i always look forward to the new year and stocking up on notebooks and binders, and cleaning closets, and blanking my slate, really. december brought me great things like rum cake, extended shopping hours, and a juno macguff christmas, but january is kind of a nice place to hang my hopes. until you know, the more cynical months come along and cut 'em loose.

i generally don't make resolutions because forming rules for myself only makes me want to break them mooore. so that's counterproductive. but, to take baby baby steps, if there's one thing i want to get done in 2008, it's to write more. since i took a big creativity hit in 2007 (ouch), it's about time to get back on the fic wagon. (is that too horrible an analogy? or not horrible enough?)

among other things (i.e. saving me from myself), i had better hope the wga strike ends soon too. reruns on lifetime are well and good, but one cannot live on the golden girls alone. (it's a close call, though. me/dorothy forever.)

hi, tv, resolutions
