We'll get to that later...

Route 24 is my crying highway. It has been since college. I would say that about 40% of the time I'm on 24 I'm crying. I whole heartedly admit that about 10% of that time it was/is over something stupid but the rest of the time I personally feel like its legitimate ( Read more... )

Yeah, the whole "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger" defense is noble, but sometimes it's hard not to be hurt by these sorts of senseless, uncontrollable directions we're pulled in. And, I think in this case, it's perfectly acceptable for you to be upset and confused and feeling little more than a piece in a unique social structure where the suits shouls know better than to thrust change on those poor kids like that. I mean, from what you've told me, these kids don't deal with the change of seasons well. I can't imagine how they'll be able to function without a kind, caring, nurturing, loving, supportive person doing everything physically possible to make their lives a bit more livable. That's what really pisses me off here... the lack of credible knowledge that these clowns running that school have for the very condition they're attempting to remediate.

Well, enough here, we'll hopefully talk this weekend sometime.

there is so much wrong in the field you (and I hope) to work in. it is so frustrating. i'm sorry for your experience, and know you at least comforted me because you let me know there is another person who cares just as much as I do. Much love, dear.

Your writing shows the obvious dedication and love you have for your profession and for the children affected not only by a dibilitating illness but by the little thought and time administration puts into these kinds of decisions. In all aspects of teaching and education there is the mortal enemy.... ADMINISTRATION. They often times have no real classroom experience and no desire to see what it's really like in the trenches where we get paid shit and deal with things like behavior plans, basket holds, children who run away from school and a system that is based solely on politics and money. "No child left behind" my ass. Every day I see children left behind because some person in an office was only concerned with payroll, or scheduling or budget cuts. All we can do is perservere and continue to love these children and work and fight for them from the front lines. In the end it is the teachers who will make a difference and someday all of our hard work and dedication will be rewarded..... Stand up for what you believe in and work hard ( ... )
