I'll be in Cape Cod in one week... WOOT I can't wait to get out of the city for a few days. I'm looking forward to spending time with my cousin Camille, we're like two peas in a pod. She's going to get her tattoo re-touched while over there and I'm thinking I may finally bite the bullet and get one myself. I've wanted one for a while but didn't seriously start considering it until this year. I haven't quite decide where I'll get it but I've settled on getting a couple of bees. The bees came to me thanks to Eddie Izzard ("I'm covered in bees!") but while looking up the meaning behind them I found they represent me pretty well.
Bumble Bee Tattoos Meaning
There are many meanings associated with bumble bee tattoos. The most important symbolization is that of duty and honor. Although the bumble bee can sting multiple times, they are not normally violent. They sting in order to defend the hive, queen and themselves. Hence they are also associated with integrity. They can also be seen as defenders. However, it should be noted, that these bees attack only when it is the last course of action. This is a quality, which a number of people stand by, where they believe, violence is the last resort.
They live a very structured life, where they pollinate crops and flowers, before they return back to their hives. The hive, thus becomes the organizational center of a bumble bee’s life. They are structured and constantly on the call of duty, where they serve their queen with loyalty and also scour the fields with passion. If you have a likening for a structured life, you may opt for cute bumble bee tattoos.
The other meanings attached to a bumble bee are that of vulnerability, rewards, sweetness and sting of life, last but not the least intelligence. It can also symbolize royalty, soul, resurrection and eloquence.
I think the fact that Eddie announced a show for this week and
buildingupsteam managed to get us tickets (199 seat theater, it should be amazing!) is a sign that I should finally go for it.
