things that i have learned in the past month:
- i have learned to crochet!
- i taught myself how to make jelly (somewhat successfully! out of rosehips that i gathered from the wild!)
- i learned about osha root and what it does; it does not like to be domesticated, it is in the celery family, it is good for the sinuses and is antibacterial and antiviral, it is bear medicine, it is god for indigestion and a sore throat.
- i learned about lungwort; i learned that it is a lichen which grows on oak, it is bright green when wet and brown and crinkly when dry. it is an expectorant, and a demulcent.
- i learned about galls; those little weird speckly balls that grow on leaves and are made by insects. the ones we looked at were made by wasps! gall wasps!
- i learned how to make an arrowhead out of obsidian and glass.
- i learned how to make a container out of bamboo and i made one!
- i learned some of the steps involved in kayak building and did some of them.
- i learned how to make cookies from scratch that are actually pretty good and identify as cookies.
