Kitchen Rants ( realized I was getting into pages of rant and I hadn't even gotten out of the kitchen):
* If you use it, put it back where you got it.
- Do not put it where you think it ought to go.
- Do not put it on the counter near where it belongs.
- Do not leave it on a table.
- Do not put a small amount of something in a huge container.
- Do not put stuff in a jar from something else without CLEARLY labeling what is in the jar.
* If you use it, clean it up
- putting a dish or glass near the sink is not the same as cleaning it.
- putting a dish or glass in the sink is not the same as cleaning it.
- putting a dish in "to soak" does not clean it.
- putting a dish or glass in the dishwasher is not the same as cleaning it.
- running the dishwasher after loading it is only the first step in cleaning up.
You still have to empty the dishwasher afterward.
You still have to put the clean contents of the dishwasher away (see rant 1)
- Do not assume that dishes from the run dishwasher are clean.
Check them before you put them away.
If they are not completely clean, wash them by hand.
This includes grease films, particulate matter, and stains from coffee and tea.
- There are some things that a dishwasher will not clean, no matter what the ads say.
* if you spill on the stove or the pot boils over, clean it up right away.
it only gets harder to clean as time goes by.
if you leave the grease on the burner parts, you get a fire hazard in a remarkably short time.
I'm tired of ranting for the moment. But I feel better.
