I need a new word - awesome just doesn't quite convey my feelings. I clapped until my arms rebelled, and wish I was clapping still where the players could hear me.
I went to see the production at the Norris Theatre in PV, and I was and still am completely blown away. The production had real musicians rather that electronic, and it really made a difference. The actors, who were all but one not even conceived of (and in some cases their parents were barely thought of) in the period depicted were more convincing than the movie version made with folk who were part of it. Which is a long and convoluted way of saying that these guys and dolls were convincing. They lived their parts. My favorites were Adelaide, Big Juli, and Benny.
More later, duty calls.
