Return of the Rank Pen!

It's the last out for the rank pen until the shortgo! This should be fun!

And we've begun! First up is Leonil Santos - off in 4.8. He's now 1/4.

White Magic!!! Gets Ryan McConnell off in 2 seconds. 45.75 bull score.

Ryan Dirteater. Holy crap, that bull was flying! I swear he was levitating! Off in 7.0.

Billy Robinson's turn. Up against Showtime, who bucked off Cord in round 2 for a 46.25. He probably won't top that, since he never turned, but that's one powerful bull.

Clayton Foltyn, up, and hanging on! Nice ride! 85.75.

Matt Bohon, off in 6.8. Yeah, not a surprise.

Kolt Donaldson, and damn. I blinked and I missed it - that was brief. Pretty much went off on the first jump.

Shane Proctor, up and out in 3.8. Very spinny bull. Damn, he was one of the five guys that were perfect after round 3.

Brian Herman's up, hanging on... and he got a ride! Lovely! 88.

Harve Stewart! Shorty thought he'd ride Spit Fire for 90, but Harve went off in 3.6. 45.75 bull score though.

Jared Farley's up, and bull's going crazy in the chute. Oh, shit. He went off and he's holding his wrist of his riding arm. They're thinking maybe dislocated shoulder, apparently he's had some trouble. Holy shit! You can actually see it go the wrong way in the replay! Damn!

Bryan Richardson went out and off so quickly I missed it, but looked up in time to see him very nearly get kicked. Wow, that was close. He's now 0/4, ouch.

Ooh, update on Jared Farley. He dislocated his left shoulder - apparently not the one he normally hurts, and they've put it back in place. Have to see what this means for the rest of the finals.

Aaron Roy's up on Unabomber ... oh not! Went off in 7.5! He was another fo the perfect guys. The bull kicked him in the back of the head, but he's walking out like absolutely nothing happened.

Clayton Williams is up. And goes off in 4.3. Bull clearly isn't done - he made a run at Mad Dog.

Justin!!!! Justin's up! He could go 3-4. He's got Fire Bird and is JW's pick to win the round. Damn!! Off in 3.6. Fuck. So he's now 2-4. *sigh*

Dustin Hall ... off in 3.9. Bummer.

Cord!!! C'mon!!!! Damn! Made it past 6, then went off. Bull looked like he wanted to munch on the bullfighters - made runs at Shorty and at the replacement for Joe.

Big Bucks is up, with Josh Koschel. Let's see how this goes ... Josh hangs on for 5.3, but goes off when Big Bucks changed direction. They're talking about how smart that bull is - he knows how to change directions when a rider is handling him, and can change directions on a dime, before the rider can react.

Brian Canter's up on Pandora's Box. Damn, 4/56! That's a great bull. Damn! Went off and looked like his legs went under the bull's hooves. Okay, not his legs - bull's legs sort of dragged down his back.

Wow, bulls 16, riders 2. Damn.

Austin Meier - up and off, damn. Make that bulls for 17. This is why I love the rank pen.

Aww, Pistol went up and off. I think he's okay got the one ride, yup. Damn.

Nick Landreneau's up. He got a way low pick. Damn! Serious air time on that bull! Nick stayed on, but got called for a slap halfway through. Damn.

Kasey's up, vs El Presidente. One of Shorty's picks - Shorty thinks the bull will change directions and buck him off, and ... maybe not? He came off right at 8, so it looks like he got the ride! He's 2/4, and I think that's the third qualified ride of the evening. 89.75, good score. Moves him to 14th in the event for now.

Colby Yates is up - let's see if his brains are back in their proper places, given that they've gotten shaken a bit. And ... he got it! 90 points! That was a great ride, his second of the event.

Reese Cates rode for 89.25. Good ride!

Luke's up on Avalanche, and off in 3. Big shock - there's a reason the only time that bull's been ridden was by Justin, and on an off day.

Zack Brown on Bones, goes down on his head and nearly gets hung up and stomped on, but apparently got lucky with the feet. Off in 2.8, score's 46.5.

Robson Palermo's up ... and .. rides! Nice one. Be a good score. wow, 92.75!! Gorgeous!

Mike White's up on Maverick, who's unridden in his only out. Cmon!! Yeah! Got it! Haha - needs a 98 for the event lead. Got a 92.25! He should be second in the round now. 2 90+ rides in a row. Just jumped to 5th in the event.

Justin! Aww! Gets serious airtime off Bad Medicine. Dammit. (I think this was a reride.)

Brendon's up on All In! Hopefully ... c'mon!! Damn! Off in 4.1. All In's a champion contender, and got a 24 from one judge. Brendon's hand is apparently so sore that he protects it when he shakes hands.

And next up, just to get all the friends in a row - Ross Coleman vs Troubadour. He's McKee's pick to win the round. C'mon! No! Damn! Off in 2.5. McKee is pouting. Bull gets a 46.75, which'll help his championship run.

And intermission. Good time for dessert, maybe? Yup, I'm thinking.

Adriano's up. Damn! Thought he hit the front of the chute - bull's going nuts. Finally got out of the chute, went off in 3.7. Hehe - apparently Adriano broke his finger Saturday, and Tony Romo (QB) broke his finger on Sunday, and Romo will be out for weeks while Adriano just stuck his broken finger into his bull rope and pulled.

Travis Briscoe went up and out in 2.6.

Sean Willingham ... might have it! Oh, damn, direction change and he lost it in 6.1.

Damn! Chris Shivers just bucked off almost immediately. And he was perfect! Fuck! Only two guys who are perfect left - Marchi and JB.

Ednei Caminhas is up. Shorty things he'll ride, and ... nope. Slaps in 2.8, off shortly thereafter. He's 0-4.

Wiley! C'mon!! Nice! Spurring most of the way, too. 87.5. He's now 2-4.

LJ's up! C'mon, LJ! Damn, off in 3.7 and not getting up fast at all. He's leaning pretty heavily on Shorty. Oh yeah, kind of landed on his head and smacked his legs down. He's limping out with Sports Medicine escort.

Holy shit! Someone just got almost dumped in the chute! That was scary. Mike Lee, is who it was. C'mon! almost! Nice!! He got it! 88.25. I think he's now 3-4, which puts him solidly back into contention for the finals win with three of the five 3-3 guys having bucked off. He's now in 8th in the event.

Renato Nunes is up. On Chicken on a Chain! And he's got it again, nice. Hahaha. backflipped and landed on his ass. 91.25. Jumped to first in the round.

JB! Go, JB!! C'mon!!! Holy shit, that bull got some serious air time!!! This is gonna be huge! 24.5 for the rider!!! 93.75! He's 4-4!!

Kody! Fuck, up and fairly quickly off. Dammit. He went off-balance almost immediately, off in 2.9.

Valdiron's up vs Copperhead Slinger - this could be epic. But no - off in 5.2. One great save to start, but lost it later. He's 2-4, I think.

And last but far from least - Guilherme Marchi. He's 3-3, up against Outa Da Blue. I think he'll get it, and ... almost there, and that was textbook. Hah - needs a 97 for the lead. Got an 89.25. Guilherme can't clinch the title because JB rode, but there's now two guys who are perfect in the event so far. I'd absolutely adore seeing one or both of them go perfect - no one's ever gone 8-8 in the finals.

At this point, I'm pulling for Marchi to win the championship and JB to win the finals. And I'd happily see both of them go perfect. This is a fantastic finals so far.

More tomorrow at 9!
