If I'm recommending a website, I might as well recommend my favourite webcomic, Hark! A Vagrant. The comics are drawn by Kate Beaton and don't really have a plot, which is nice. It's a collection of historical/silly/personal comics that are almost always hilarious. She's Canadian, which is kickass, because Canadian History is interesting and I like it dammit (even though it is full of disgusting moments, just like any country's history).
