It stinks of spring out there

May 08, 2005 13:30

No, really. It is quite a delightful smell. Part fertilizer, part green grass, part freshness after the rainstorms of last night. Pity there isn't more of a breeze to draw it into the old hovel.

In the wee hours of the morning, I was having a lovely dream in which I was helping the Ninth Doctor thwart evil of some sort, running through the sewers and piping of some nameless town. All of a sudden he stops, turns to me, and starts dancing to The Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again" Wondering what brought on this sprightly display in the midst of all the filth and peril, I awoke to find the hillbillies from my apartment complex drunkenly stumbling about the parking lot. Since it was 4.40 a.m. and worms were on the move and birds were on the wing, they decided to treat us all to the 'best part' part of the song, as one of them judged it. They all proceeded to WOOOOOW along with the screamy bit.

But did I help save the world? I am always at my most useful and heroic while asleep.

Still trying to telephonically pin down the mother. She and the pater must have gone for one of their pointless Sunday drives.

Until I reach her, I will watch some freshly downloaded QIs and enjoy life.
