Strange days (and techie stuff ITT)

Strange things are happening, and I'm tired. Both of my extra consulting gigs want help this week, so I'm swamped with work. Also, my projects at work either A)get done quickly, b) get done slowly, or c) get lost in the quagmire of my bosses asking themselves,"do we REALLY need this? work on it for now and we'll let you know in 2 months". A friend of mine is in dire straights, and this time I'm not sure I can help.

Friday I get to dance or play games. Why can't I do both? Maybe I can...MAYBE I CAN...

I promised you technical stuff, so here you go. I found some documentation today on how to install Asterisk PBX on a Linksys WRT54G router, just like I have. You can pick them up for next-to-dirt cheap(like, $40 or less), and installing Asterisk turns it into a VOIP phone-switching server. So in theory, rather than needing a land-line, you purchase yourself a dedicated phone number, then set up your router to handle all calls(which then come in via IP). From there it can forward to your cell phone, or go to your computer, allowing you to talk via Skype or something of the like. Neat stuff.
