we're no longer hobos!

So yeh, home again... or well, still trying to build a home in this lovely rainy city on the west coast. Turns out that finding an apartment here is nothing short of epic. Vancouver has a vacany rate of less than 0.3%, so every apartment showing is a line-up around the block, coupled with a pile of invasive applications and a slim chance at winning the landlord-picked-me lottery. We, however, must have some totally wikkid karma saved up because we found a place in two days. It's beautiful too! A two-bedroom pad in a 100-yr old mansion, right in the quiet part of downtown. Our many windows (bright! natural light galore!) overlook Japanese maples, cherry trees, cedar and balsam... and oodles of colourful flowers that the owner has lovingly grown over the past forty years.
We move in in October, so in the meanwhile we're staying at one of my most favourite houses ever - Tim's parents live out on Vancouver Island in a beautiful home they built 5 years ago as part of their retirement dream. They're on vacation for the next two weeks, so we're taking advantage of all the walk-around-naked-drink-directly-out-of-the-milk-carton freedoms attached to housesitting ;) Ah, life is good.

Oh! oh! right! ... aaAAaNND I start a new job next week for the Environmental Youth Alliance as a Green Business Auditor! Time to put my fancy-pants expensive degree to use ;) Eeeek!
