August is the longest month
It seems like this month is dragging on too long. I keep looking at the calendar expecting to have to pay rent tomorrow but September first is still like two weeks away. Not that I love paying rent but August is so, like is summer over yet? Still 103 outside? So done with that.
Madden got hard this year. Like, I dunno what happened. I usually play the all-pro level because I just pummel the levels below that. My defense is still strong, but on offense I can't do jack crap. I am totally unable to complete a pass more than 15 yards downfield. Corners are coming around my receivers and knocking down or picking off the short stuff I normally complete. I don't know what it is because Campbell's got a strong arm and I check the replay and he's starting the throw before the receiver starts the break. I mean, what else can I do?
Running's ok but I can't hit a big one and it's hard to go 3 yards and a cloud of dust down the length of the field. I'm reduced to playing safe and waiting for the defense to get a turnover and put me in position to kick a short field goal or run it in from the 3. So disheartening.
This is kind of silly but in an attempt to ward off future bouts of the uber-depression (like the last post) I'm making a list of all things I like about myself. Because my posts when I'm in that state tend to read like a list of things I hate about myself, there should probably be a counterbalance.
So uh, if there's a quality about me that you (the elusive reader of bitching & blogging weekly) actually like... Leave a comment or something...
